Pre-Register for Sport of Kings: Academy of Armored Combat
Who should pre-register?
- Anyone can pre-register for Sport of Kings 2009, whether or not you are taking classes.
- Fill out one (1) registration for each person wishing to pre-register. Groups on one registration will not be accepted, just register each person individually. This allows us to keep track of your classes, t-shirts, etc. If you are registering for more than one person you can pay with one check, please be sure to provide the correct payment for all.
- Please note: Pre-registration is not required to attend the event; however, pre-registration is required in order to reserve your class space. If you are not registering for classes, you may also use the online regsitration form to simply pre-register for the event itself.
- A confirmation will be e-mailed to you within 7-9 days of receiving your payment.
- Pre-registration will close July 21, 2009. Registrations must be postmarked by July 21, 2009 in order to reserve your spot in a class, and must include a check or money order for the correct registration fee. Make checks and money orders payable to: "Barony of Three Mountains - SCA, Inc."
A few words from Jarl Ulfred for those new to Sport of Kings regarding scheduling classes:
- Many students have told us after prior years that they had over scheduled their weekend. They get so overwhelmed by information that they cannot apply much of what they were shown. This is particularly true when taking purely combat related classes. With these classes an additional difficulty is pure exhaustion.
- The staff has noticed a pattern of increased no-shows for classes on the second day and afternoon classes. We do not schedule in breaks or class transition time in our schedule. If you book many back-to-back classes it becomes a very grueling (but exciting) experience.
- Also, make some preparations and have snack foods and water with you during the day.
- There is a tendency to be the proverbial kid in a candy shop when registering. Fight the tendency, and also think about targeting diversity in the classes you schedule.
How do I pre-register for classes?
- Class schedules are available online for Friday and Saturday. Click on a course number to read the class descriptions. You do not need to commit to any one track; that is, you may choose classes from all tracks as long as they do not conflict with each other. Enter course numbers for your first and second choice classes for each time slot into the registration form. When you complete your registration, you'll receive an email, print it out and mail it in to the address above along with your payment.
- Classes are filled in order of received registrations. Classes fill up quickly; to secure your spot in a particular class, register early! If your first choice class is full, we will automatically place you in your second choice class. If you do not indicate a second choice for that time slot, we will leave it empty. If both your first and second choice classes are full, we will contact you.
- Children under 13 years old are welcome to take Youth Track classes, but they must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
- Please note: Additional classes may be added to the schedule at a later date at the Autocrat's discretion and as classes fill up. We regret that we are unable to accommodate requests for scheduling changes for individual students after their registrations have been submitted due to the difficulty in tracking such changes.
Cancellation and Refund Policy
- To cancel a class or request a refund, e-mail the Registrar by August 7, 2009:

.
- Please note: Refund requests must be received by August 7, 2009 - no exceptions. There will be no refund requests granted during or after the event.
- To receive a refund, send a self addressed stamped envelope to the Sport of Kings registration address(below) with a signed/dated note stating the mundane name(s) of the person(s) wishing a refund. Write: "ATTN: REFUND" on the envelope you are sending your request in. Refunds will be mailed out after the event (in August, 2009).
- If, for whatever reason, you decide to attend the event after mailing a refund request, you will be allowed to attend the event, but will not receive a refund.
Pre-registration
Sport of Kings: Academy of Armored Combat has closed the extended registration period. Registration for any classes with empty spots is available on-site on a first come, first serve basis.
If you have registered on-line, please mail your payment with a copy of your confirmation email as soon as possible to ensure your class reservation. Due to a typo, some of the confirmation emails had the wrong zip code - the correct one is 97207. You should receive an email confirming your classes and payment received soon.
And have a great event, we're looking forward to seeing you there!
